Anyone can be a co-creator and a steward of nature. Whether you’re aiming to start a farm or enhance the beauty and function of your home landscape, my consultation and design services are here to help.

By incorporating fruit and nut trees, shrubs, mushrooms, perennial vegetables, animals, rainwater catchment, passive energy capture, and other features into our landscapes, we can play a part in restoring the health of our local ecosystems and building resilience for ourselves and our communities. Plus, the Earth rewards us with sweet persimmons, hearty chestnuts, crunchy apples and many other gifts for offering our love, hard work, and attention.

Permaculture Landscape Design Consultations

My Landscape Design Consultations are comprehensive site visits where we explore design ideas tailored to your property. We evaluate the existing trees, shrubs, and herbs, and discuss potential changes and additions to enhance benefit for both the client and local wildlife. We aim to incorporate more native, beneficial, edible, and medicinal plants, as well as integrate systems like water catchment, composting, passive energy capture, and more.

What to Expect

During a consultation, you’ll receive guidance on:

  • Which plant species are already growing on your property

  • What changes to the landscape can be implemented to maximize benefits to you and the wildlife

  • How to incorporate more native, edible & medicinal plants and mushrooms into your property and increase biological diversity

  • Which systems you can implement that will help you make your property more regenerative and efficient

After the consultation, clients receive a detailed write-up that summarizes our meeting and includes additional resources for plant ideas, nurseries, and more. If desired, we can proceed with creating and implementing a detailed forest garden design for your property.

Please note: Consultations do not include a design deliverable.

    We walk around your property, determining potential areas for improvement in your home landscape that are aligned with your goals

    We identify the most high-priority tasks to help you get started

  • Follow Up

    Clients receive a comprehensive PDF consultation recap that outlines everything we discussed and includes tons of additional resources

Forest Garden Design

All garden design projects start with a landscape design consultation to gather essential information and understand your goals. Our process involves:

  • Using existing engineering drawings/schematics as a basemap (if possible, otherwise I need to take measurements and create my own basemap)

  • Assessing existing infrastructure and plants

  • Mapping out garden beds, tree canopy layers, property edges, gathering places, infrastructure, water features, etc

  • Integrating systems such as rainwater catchment, mushroom cultivation, composting, passive solar capture, water management, and more

What you get
Clients get a masterplan design created by me that meets their goals and improves beauty, functionality and productivity of their home landscape.

Rates

Forest Garden Design rates are based on the scale and scope of the project. I will be able to give you a more accurate estimate after completing the Landscape Design Consultation.

Additional Services

  • Fruit Tree Pruning

    I will remove damaged, diseased, and excessive growth from your fruit and nut trees to increase productivity, health, ease of maintenance and accessibility.
